Chassa Chatter: Spring 2009 Update

May 31st, 2009

The  snow birds have migrated back north seeking emerging spring bulbs, family reunions and  new gardens to plant.   Here at the resort, we settle into our  warmer weather routines of pool side chats, cook-outs,  getting boats ready for summer excursions,  shorter lines at favorite restaurants, and planning vacations or family visits.

Spring is a time of hope and enthusiasm. A time when we put  behind us the winter blahs and are energized by longer warm sunny days.

This winter we welcomed new owners and seasonal renters to the Chassa Oaks family. Our first season of the property management program was a success with most of the rental sites occupied much of the winter season.  Owners and renters became fast friends as they shared RV experiences and resort activities.

Many thanks to Lois Raptis for coordinating activities this winter. Seems like owners, renters and friends all have lots of fun and really appreciate her efforts. She’s already planning Ice Cream socials, pool parties, cook-outs, Wii bowling and more Thursday night dinner outings for this summer.

And, the clubhouse has a new look with additional tables and new chairs (enough for everyone). Many thanks for the valuable donations. The armoire, TV and VHS tapes from Greg and Sandy , along with the new wicker chairs from our developer create a rich, cozy  entertainment area . The exercise equipment donated by, Tom, Clyde and Carolyn and Jim is ready for the most dedicated exercise advocate. And thanks also to Greg and Sandy for the patio chairs and to Lois and Ray for the big clock.

Even the landscaping has  a new look with the palm trees framing the clubhouse complex and colorful plants blooming throughout the resort.

Also,  check out the new horseshoe pit, and volleyball/badminton court and croquet area in front of the clubhouse. Equipment for these games is stored in the clubhouse mail room. The lawn bowling set provided by Ray and Lois is next to the pool.  Speaking of the pool, there are plenty of pool toys—basketball, volleyball, noodles, and floating chairs, all provided by pool savy owners.

We’ve finally gotten a break from the severe drought that most of Florida has been experiencing. The last couple of weeks has brought almost daily rains  resulting in restoring summer green to the resort and surrounding countryside.

Don’t miss summer here in Citrus county!  Our weather is great for outdoor activities and  there is plenty to do!  Check out the library bulletin board in the clubhouse for area specials and community notices.
